It?s amazing that so many homes don?t have a patio or deck. We?re talking about properties that have the space to host an outdoor area, too.
It?s a real oversight because having a patio or deck is a truly wonderful idea. Let?s talk about three of the many reasons why those who don?t have outdoor spaces should get to work today on building that patio.
Before we get to the more subjective justifications, we?ll start with the bottom line. Patios and decks improve the resale value of homes. If you have a deck, the house is worth more money that it would be without the improvement.
You?d think those dollar signs would be enough of a reason to get people started, but there are some other reasons. It increases your usable space during warmer months. When the weather is nice, your patio or deck is just as good as any other room in the house. If you enclose your patio, it become nothing short of an additional room. If you?d like a little more elbow room, look outside.
Finally, a patio or deck can be a hub for fun activity with family and friends while giving you a chance to enjoy the outdoors under the best of circumstances. There?s no way to put a price tag on that kind of home improvement, is there?
Do you have a patio or deck? If not, you might want to think about adding one. The advantages are impressive.
